Born in 1944 in Poland, and now residing in New York City, Ingrid Finnan worked for 30 years as a designer of decorative textiles until retirement in 2005, at which time she discovered contemporary botanical art. She was immediately drawn to the art and chose to paint in oils after a lifetime of admiration of the Dutch floral painters of the 17th Century. Since 2006, she has shown annually in the International American Society of Botanical Artists Exhibitions and many other juried exhibitions. Her work is included in a number of private collections.
