Tanya Brett is one of the UK’s leading animalier sculptors working in ceramic and bronze. Brett works into the clay’s surface with scratches and brush strokes - techniques normally associated with drawing and painting - giving the animals she depicts a vitality and immediacy. The sculptures are finished with a layer of porcelain and high fired. She also produces expressive drawings and paintings, highlighting the ideas process behind her sculpture work.

 

Tanya Brett (b.1974) lives and works in London. She studied Three Dimensional Design (BA Hons) at the University of Brighton. As well as solo exhibitions with Jonathan Cooper Park Walk Gallery, Brett has also exhibited with Adrian Sassoon at The Armory in New York.

 

Recent commissions include; Marco Pierre White, for his restaurants, Wheeler’s of St James’s and Wheeler’s at the Kings Arms Inn, West Sussex and Lord Alistair McAlpine, for his Italian Garden and The Plantation House, Mustique.
