"This series of paintings takes inspiration from medieval Middle Eastern manuscripts on cosmography, where a whale and bull are described as supervisors of the earth and sea. Together, they support the seven oceans, the seven visible planets, and the seven heavens. This painting is an abstract representation of that analogy.

In this piece, we see the cosmic bull, a zoomorphic symbol that represents man's relationship to earth and agriculture, floating within the abyss. Above the bull is a vertical red rectangle that is exactly seven circles long, which pays homage to the seven realms supported by the creature. The bull is said to carry the earth, which is indicated by the malachite green circle at the top of the red rectangle.

The painting features yellow ochre from the earth, red cinnabar, green malachite, and Indian ink. It is painted on Indian hemp paper from Jaipur."
